Localisation

Typically, translation is based on the simple translation of a piece of text from one language to another, as accurately as possible. Foreign Tongues take one step further, providing you with the option of localisation.

Localisation involves taking a translation, and adapting it specifically to the target audience and the nature of the country being targeted. This process can include changing the currency and regions and interjecting slang and local dialect. For example, only through localisation would an article about mobiles be adapted to include the German word for mobiles – handys.

Foreign Tongues can also use localisation to advise on the validity of a project, based on an advanced knowledge about worldwide target audiences, so saving money and maximising impact.
