Where Research Conversations Continue
9th March 2026

Research conferences are designed to concentrate ideas.
Across a day of presentations, panels and discussion, new methods are explored, emerging challenges are debated and the future direction of the industry is considered.
But the work of understanding rarely finishes when the final session ends.
At the Market Research Society Annual Conference today, the formal programme will bring together many of the most thoughtful voices in our sector. Yet, as every experienced researcher knows, the conversation does not stop when the lights dim and the slides disappear.
Often, it only begins to open up.
The Value of Informal Exchange
When the structure of the conference day concludes, the atmosphere changes.
Researchers step away from prepared material and begin speaking more freely about the questions that remain unresolved:
- how a concept travelled across markets
- why certain responses felt unexpectedly cautious
- where interpretation may have drifted from intention
These conversations are not part of the official programme, but they are often where genuine professional learning happens.
They allow colleagues to compare experiences, challenge assumptions and reflect on the complexities that formal presentations cannot always capture.
A Shared Space for the Research Community
That is why Foreign Tongues is proud to Sponsor the End-of-Conference Drinks Reception this evening.
It is a small contribution to something the research community already does exceptionally well: creating space for thoughtful exchange.
In international research especially, insight develops not only through analysis, but through dialogue – where language, interpretation and experience can be examined openly.
We Look Forward to Seeing You
If you are attending the conference today, we hope you will join us at the reception.
It will be an opportunity to continue the day’s conversations, meet fellow researchers and reflect on the ideas that have emerged.
Sometimes the most valuable part of a conference is simply the chance to talk.
