When the Conversation Continues

11th March 2026

Yesterday’s Market Research Society Annual Conference brought together researchers from across the industry to explore the evolving challenges and opportunities facing the profession.

Throughout the day, presentations examined methodology, innovation and the future direction of market research. But as is often the case, some of the most valuable exchanges occurred after the formal programme had ended.

Foreign Tongues was delighted to Sponsor the End-of-Conference Drinks Reception, where colleagues from across the research community gathered to continue the conversation.

Where Ideas Become Experience

Once the structure of presentations falls away, the tone of discussion changes.

Researchers speak more openly about the practical realities of their work:
how concepts travel between markets, how respondents interpret questions and where language subtly shapes insight.

These conversations rarely appear in conference slides, yet they often represent the most honest and constructive professional exchange.

A Community That Reflects Together

One of the strengths of the research sector is its willingness to share experience.

Across the evening, discussions moved easily between methodology, fieldwork challenges and the complexities of interpreting insight across languages and cultures.

Moments like this remind us that research is not simply about data, it is about interpretation, dialogue and collective understanding.

Thank You for Joining Us

Foreign Tongues would like to thank everyone who attended the reception and contributed to such an engaging and thoughtful evening.

It was a pleasure to meet so many colleagues and to continue the discussions that began during the conference itself.
